Commercial Solar Installation & EPC Services

dGEN Energy Partners is a commercial solar EPC company: one team that designs, engineers, permits, builds, and maintains commercial and industrial solar installations, so a project never gets handed off between a developer, an installer, and a maintenance company that have never met. dGEN is ranked #107 on Solar Power World's 2026 Top Solar Contractors list, and our installers include NABCEP-certified professionals.

Who commercial solar is for

Our solar EPC work is built for commercial and industrial properties, including:

  • Warehouses and distribution centers with large rooftops and steady daytime load
  • Manufacturing facilities looking to control long-term energy costs
  • Retail properties and shopping centers
  • Owners of vacant land evaluating ground-mounted solar

If the building also needs roof work, that is an advantage, not a complication: dGEN is also a commercial and industrial roofing contractor, ranked in the Top 3% of roofing contractors in North America, so the roof and the array are engineered together.

What a turnkey EPC engagement includes

As an industrial solar EPC contractor, dGEN handles the full scope under one contract:

  • Design — system design matched to your facility's roof or land, load profile, and goals.
  • Engineering — structural and electrical engineering, including roof condition where a rooftop array is planned.
  • Permitting — permits, utility interconnection, and code compliance managed by our team.
  • Construction — installation by a licensed contractor, sequenced around your operations.
  • O&M — operations and maintenance after commissioning, so the system keeps producing as designed.

Where a project needs power sooner than the utility can deliver it — or backup and storage alongside solar — we also design commercial battery storage and microgrid systems and onsite generation, including the LGEN approach described on our Need Power Faster? page.

Financing: little to no capital investment

The barrier to commercial solar is usually capital, not interest. dGEN structures projects around little to no capital investment, including solar PPAs for businesses, leases, and loans. Our commercial solar financing page explains how each option works and how our Path to Ownership approach is structured — start there, or ask us to model your facility directly.

Licensed, verifiable, and ranked

dGEN is a licensed commercial solar and roofing contractor — see the licenses page for state licenses and verification links, including Florida, where we are now licensed statewide (CGC1542104, Certified General Contractor; CCC1338053, Certified Roofing Contractor). Our credentials include NABCEP certification and the Solar Power World Top Solar Contractors ranking (#107, 2026).

Proof: solar delivered under budget

At the Clear Lake Community School District in Iowa, dGEN delivered a 107,000 sq ft roof-plus-solar program at $1,398,936 against a $2 million budget, with $747,372 in incentives — and the project received 2026 RCMA Project of the Year recognition. In Florida, our portfolio includes the Florida Power & Light project at Tanger Outlets in Daytona Beach — 5,850 panels, 2,634 kWdc. Frequently asked questions

Can we get solar without paying up front?

In many cases, yes. PPA, lease, and loan structures can reduce or eliminate the upfront capital requirement. Our commercial solar financing page explains the options, and our FAQ page answers the financing questions owners ask most.

How long does a commercial solar project take?

Timelines vary by facility and utility, but owners should plan on a process measured in months from design through commissioning — our FAQ page discusses the typical timeline (around six months) in more detail.

What if our roof is old or damaged?

That is common, and it is why dGEN holds roofing licenses as well as solar credentials. We assess the roof first — including hail-damage insurance claims where a storm is involved — and sequence any roof work with the array design.

Do incentives apply to our project?

Incentives played a major role at Clear Lake ($747,372 secured on that program). What applies to your facility depends on location and project structure; a free analysis will identify what is available.

Can solar be paired with storage or backup power?

Yes. Solar plus storage is a standard configuration for facilities that need business continuity as well as savings — see our battery storage and microgrid page.
